Welcome to Ludlow Ecolog Cabins.
We run a family business offering self-catering holidays in a hand built Finnish-style log cabin, set in an unspoilt meadow, 2 miles from Ludlow, known nationally for its quality food, and within easy reach of the glorious countryside of the Shropshire Hills and Welsh Marches. This is now our third year, and the cabin seems to have started to live something of it's own life - word has spread, and repeat and recommendation bookings for this year are currently 48%. Thanks to all our guests for their feedback and help.
Annie's Cabin is a cosy place to stay in the winter....during January and February we give you £25 worth of food from Ludlow Food Centre as a welcoming present.
If you're looking for a relaxed English holiday, we've got lots to offer you. Annie's Cabin has been designed to be as much fun to live in as possible at any time of year, and in any weather. If the weather's good, you can explore during the day, and come back for a glass of wine round the firepit by the river. If it's warm and wet, you can open the folding doors onto the meadow, and sit outside for meals under the huge overhanging roof. If it's cold and wet, you could spend the morning gathering fresh ingredients in Ludlow, have a cooking competition in the afternoon, and feast in the evening in front of the 11KW wood pellet stove. Or if you don't want to cook, you could investigate the area's great choice of restaurants (see http://www.ludlow.org.uk/eat.asp).
The cabin has been constructed with the aim of minimising impact on the environment, both during the building process, and over its lifetime, using Douglas Fir logs grown in Mid-Wales. If you're interested in reducing the CO2 emissions of your own home, a holiday here may give you some ideas, and enable you to try out technologies such as the wood-pellet stove, solar water-heating, an induction hob and LED/low energy lighting.
We have also incorporated disabled facilities into the design, including level access throughout, a wet room, and extra wide doors.
See 'Availability & Prices' for the current booking calendar - please either email or phone us with the dates you're interested in. All bookings more than 8 weeks ahead only require a 25% deposit initially.
Limited fishing is available at no extra charge - there is approximately 200 yards of unstocked water.

This page contains every entry in the visitor's book for the first year of the cabin's life, unabridged and in order - you'll just need to take my word for it that I haven't surreptitiously edited anything out. During the second year, the cabin seems to have started to live something of it's own life - word seems to spread, and repeat and recommendation bookings are currently around 48%. Thanks to all our guests for their feedback and enthusiasm.
' It was a pleasure to be your first guests. We all enjoyed the unique nature of the cabin and its location. It's an amazing place to spend the weekend, we had a BBQ by the river, saw the lovely views from the fort and made the most of all the food on our doorstep. Thank you very much - we'll definitely tell all of our friends!'
